Vertical black and white botanical wall art with three wild fennel stems — white forms with narrow finger-like fronds radiating from each branch tip, set against a deep black ground with visible carved texture and irregular paper edges. Field Notes

Part of the Northern California Flora Archive. Wild fennel grows everywhere in NorCal — roadsides outside Napa, the margins of vineyard roads in Sonoma, disturbed ground along the coast. It's technically invasive, but it's also one of the most visually consistent plants in the region, present year-round and immediately recognizable by its fine feathery foliage. This piece strips the plant back to its branching logic: long stems, nodes, fronds spreading outward in even clusters.

Works alongside other high-contrast Flora Archive pieces or as a standalone vertical framed botanical print. The open composition makes it particularly useful in a gallery wall that needs breathing room. Framed and ready to hang.
