From the Valley Light Studies — a series drawn from the color and atmosphere of Northern California's agricultural and geological terrain. This piece departs from the collection's softer work — where most Valley Light pieces settle into horizontal calm, this one cuts diagonally through the frame. The amber wedge reads like a mineral vein through cooler surrounding rock, or warm late-afternoon light hitting a hillside at an angle that turns everything gold while the shadows hold deep.
