Field Notes

The center of this piece is almost three-dimensional — layered gold and amber forms stacked and folded over each other with visible brushwork running in every direction. The edges dissolve into soft, atmospheric warmth, which keeps the density from feeling heavy. A sliver of cool blue-grey at the upper edge provides the only counterpoint in an otherwise fully warm composition, and it's just enough to give the gold tones depth rather than letting them flatten.
