Vertical art print with fine contour line work across a warm white ground — soft grey-green lines wrapping organic void shapes distributed across the full surface, like a hand-drawn topographic map at close range. The torn deckled edge is part of the piece, visible where it meets the frame. Ships unframed on archival paper. Best in a white frame that lets the edge detail read cleanly. Field Notes

From the Material Trace Studies — work focused on mark, surface, and what accumulates. This piece sits at the edge of the series: more image than texture, more map than material. The contour lines follow the logic of topographic survey documents — the kind drawn by hand before digital tools made the process invisible. Northern California's Coast Range produces exactly this kind of terrain: dense ridgelines, irregular drainage basins, elevation changes that don't resolve into clean shapes.

An affordable art print that rewards close looking. The deckled edge makes it worth framing with some mat depth if your frame allows it. Pairs well with No. 04 if you want two pieces that reference cartography from different angles — gridded survey versus contour terrain.
