Tall vertical abstract coastal wall art — open mint-seafoam and pale blue atmosphere in the upper zone with two small dark bird marks in flight, a large diffuse white bloom at center, and a substantial dark mass of burgundy, near-black, and red with amber accent in the lower left. Wide pale sage and cream settle below. The bird marks are the only figurative detail in the Coastal Light series and they land quietly — easy to miss, harder to unsee. Works well in a bedroom or living room with soft neutral tones where the vertical format and open atmosphere can occupy real wall space. White frame keeps the upper field breathing.

Field Notes

From The Coastal Light Studies — work built around the specific light and atmosphere of the Northern California coast. This piece captures the moment when coastal fog begins to thin: birds visible in the upper atmosphere before the marine layer fully lifts, warm dark mass still anchoring the lower zone before the clearing completes. The two marks in the upper field are a specific detail — shorebirds or cormorants at distance, the kind of thing you'd register peripherally from a coastal bluff without stopping to look directly.

The most quietly figurative piece in the collection, and one of the more open compositionally. Works well in a gallery arrangement where it can provide breathing room alongside denser pieces. Framed and ready to hang.
