Field Notes

From the Valley Light Studies — a series built around how Northern California's valleys and surrounding hills look in variable light conditions. This piece is about a specific meteorological moment: direct sun on a dark hillside while the rest of the scene stays soft and diffuse. The magenta field at lower right is the wild card — an unexpected color that only appears under the right combination of light angle and terrain.

Works well as a balancing piece in a gallery wall arrangement alongside more densely colored work. The cream field gives neighboring prints breathing room. Ships unframed on archival paper, affordable abstract landscape art.
