Field Notes

From the Valley Light Studies — a series built around the color and atmosphere of Northern California valleys at a distance and in variable weather. This piece leans into the fog-heavy quality of the Napa and Sonoma lowlands in the colder months, when white fills the frame and only the densest landscape features hold their ground. The composition's restraint is deliberate — most of the canvas is doing very little, which makes the dark cluster hit harder.

A strong option for a gallery wall that mixes quieter pieces with more active ones — this one balances. Also works well in a bedroom or home office where the white field opens the room. Ships unframed on archival paper.
