A deep rust form sits centered in a cream field, bisected by a single horizontal white line, with sandy ochre bands running across the top and bottom of the canvas. The layered ground — cream, sand, pale yellow — gives the piece more tonal range than it reads at first glance. Warm contemporary wall art that works well in a living room or dining room where the palette is already running in neutrals with one warm accent. Natural wood frame picks up the sandy tones in the background and keeps the piece grounded without adding contrast it doesn't need.

Field Notes

Part of Terra Forms — a series drawn from the material surfaces of Northern California's ceramic tradition. Kiln-fired earthenware, the color of iron-rich clay at different stages of oxidation, the horizontal seam you see on a coil-built vessel where two sections meet. The bisecting line in No. 06 reads exactly that way — not a crack, not damage, just the record of how the thing was made.

Works well as part of a Terra Forms gallery wall or on its own in a space with plaster walls, raw wood, or linen. The multi-zone ground gives it more flexibility than a single-tone piece — it carries a lot of neutrals without competition. Framed and ready to hang.
