A single cream vessel outlined in black against a split ground of deep chocolate brown and warm off-white — bold earth tone abstract wall art that reads clearly from across the room without overwhelming it. Field Notes

Part of Terra Forms — a series drawn from Northern California's ceramic and craft tradition. Hand-thrown pottery, agricultural vessels, the worn geometry of fired clay. No. 01 opens the series with its most stripped-down statement: one form, one outline, two color fields. Nothing decorative. The split background references the contrast you see in a kiln-fired piece — one face dark from heat exposure, the other pale where the clay faced outward.

Works as a standalone piece or as an anchor for a gallery wall built from Terra Forms. Pairs well with natural materials — aged wood, linen, raw concrete. Framed and ready to hang.
