A vertical fracture of coral, wine, and dark grey-green cuts through an otherwise quiet field of cream and warm blush. The most dramatic piece in The Plaster Works — all the energy concentrated in a single jagged line down the center, with thick impasto texture spreading outward in every direction. Field Notes

The tension here is structural. Two calm, pale fields — blush on the left, cooler cream on the right — separated by a rough seam of saturated color that runs top to bottom. Deep coral, burgundy, and gold crowd together along the split, with a dark grey-green anchor at the base. The surface is heavily built up on both sides, but the center is where the paint stacks thickest and the edges get sharpest.
