Warm neutral abstract wall art with two large rounded forms sitting against a paneled crosshatch ground — all in the same cream and wheat palette, so the composition reads through shape and line density rather than color. The concentric contour lines that define each form ring inward toward open centers, giving them a quiet dimensional quality. Works well in a living room, bedroom, or entryway where you want geometric structure without hard edges or contrast. Natural wood frame ties directly into the warm wheat tones throughout.

Field Notes

Part of the Material Trace Studies — a series about surfaces and the marks they carry. No. 11 is the most architecturally structured piece in the collection: distinct forms, paneled background, and a contour logic that references inset panel drawings and soil survey maps simultaneously. The rounded corners keep it from going fully technical. Everything sits in the same tonal family, so the eye has to work slightly to read it — which is part of what makes it hold a wall.

Framed and ready to hang. The vertical format and clear compositional structure make it a strong anchor piece. Pairs with No. 08 for a two-piece arrangement that puts the cartographic contour work of both pieces in conversation.
