Vertical art print with dense dark wavy lines fading down a warm cream ground — tightly packed at the top, gradually dissolving toward the bottom until the surface is nearly bare. The effect is somewhere between topographic map and weathered surface. Ships unframed on archival paper; strong in a white or black frame depending on how much contrast you want. A good fit for a tall narrow wall, entryway, or bedroom where vertical scale matters.

Field Notes

From the Material Trace Studies — work focused on mark, surface, and what accumulates. This is the most graphic piece in the series: the contrast is higher, the lines are darker, and the compositional logic is clear from across the room even as the surface detail rewards closer looking. It references the way geologic strata compress and thin — the kind of layering you see in road cuts through the California hills.

Works as an affordable minimalist art print in rooms that can handle some visual weight at the top of the frame. A strong pairing with No. 02 if you want to put the series' most reduced piece next to its most structured one.
