Field Notes

This piece reads like a table seen from above — collected objects, rounded forms, stacked color. The palette maps directly to Northern California's farmers market culture: the deep green of early-season olives, tomato red, citrus orange, all set against the grey concrete and weathered surfaces of the market stalls themselves. The red border creates a window effect, framing the composition like looking down into a crate or through a kitchen pass. The forms are loose and overlapping — nothing sits perfectly. That's the point. It captures the casual arrangement of things gathered and set down, not curated for display.
