A thick cobalt blue line traces one continuous irregular form across a pale cream ground — the interior spaces left white, the corners filled with deep charcoal black, scratchy gray marks pulling through on the right side. Graphic and raw, with a linocut quality that sets it apart from anything digital. Part of Maritime Forms — the single continuous line here reads like an anchor viewed straight down: the shank, the flukes, the ring, all collapsed into one unbroken drawn edge. Or a chain link. Or a piece of rigging hardware reduced past recognition. The charcoal fills at the corners are the weight and shadow of something that lives underwater most of the time — surfaces that only get seen when something breaks.

One of the more graphic pieces in Maritime Forms, closer in energy to No. 03 than the quieter palette works. Pairs well with other pieces in the navy-and-cream range or holds on its own as bold coastal abstract wall art in a space that can carry something this direct.
