Part of the Horizon Line Series, this piece documents stratus cloud formations over the Northern California coast at dawn — the thin, horizontal cloud layers that catch early light and hold it in washes of pink and rose before the sun climbs high enough to burn them off. The soft horizontal banding is barely structured, more suggestion than geometry, with each passage of pink drifting into the next without clear boundary. A subtle dark accent near the base provides the only compositional anchor, grounding the ethereal palette against drift. The composition is almost entirely atmosphere — color suspended in space with no hard form to interrupt it. This is the collection's lightest, most luminous piece — air made visible through restrained pink tonality.
