Part of the Horizon Line Series, this piece documents the way light drains from a Northern California valley at dusk — the slow, even gradient from bright horizon to dark hillside that happens over an hour but reads, in memory, as a single smooth transition from day to night. The warm cream at top suggests the last ambient light pooling above the ridgeline while the progression through sage, grey-green, and charcoal maps how terrain absorbs darkness from the ground up. There are no hard edges in this composition — every transition is continuous, every boundary dissolved. The black anchoring the bottom reads as the valley floor after sunset, when ground temperature drops and shadow becomes total. This is the collection's most meditative piece — atmospheric calm through tonal restraint. Ideal for bedrooms where gradual transitions create restful atmosphere, contemporary meditation spaces, or minimalist interiors where a single piece provides visual depth without demanding attention.
