Black and cream abstract wall art built around a single large rounded form — softened corners, almost boulder-like in silhouette. The surface is divided into three sections, each carrying dense directional striations that shift angle across the planes: horizontal sweeps across the top, vertical scoring on the left, diagonal marks in the lower right. A thin seam of cream separates the sections, giving the whole thing a fractured, worn quality. The softer geometry makes this the most approachable piece in the series. Works well in a contemporary bedroom, living room, or home office.

Field Notes

Part of The Friction Series — work drawn from the weathered surfaces of Northern California's industrial landscape. The rounded form here suggests something that's been worn smooth by sustained contact — a concrete tank, a river-polished boulder, a cylindrical structure that's lost its hard edges to time and weather. The three distinct wear patterns within the same form tell a more complex story: different forces acting on different faces, each leaving its own directional record. This is the Friction Series at its most organic — less angular than No. 01 or No. 02, more geological than architectural. Pairs well with other series pieces for a gallery wall, or works alone as textural abstract art in a space that wants visual weight without hard edges.
