Field Notes

From the Northern California Flora Archive — documentation of the plants native to this region. Pacific kelp grows in dense underwater forests along the NorCal coast, anchored to the seafloor and rising toward the surface in cold, clear water. Seen from above it's invisible. This study brings it up and flattens it into graphic form — fronds as shapes, water as texture, the plant as composition.

An affordable marine botanical poster that works alone or grouped with other Flora Archive prints. Ships unframed — frame it yourself or bring it to a local framer to get the finish exactly right.
