Tall vertical abstract coastal wall art — wide open blue-grey atmosphere and cream-white field giving way to a single dark center-left form of forest green, near-black, and olive rising upward with concentrated amber-yellow light breaking through at its core. The composition is mostly open space organized around one specific, almost sculptural event. Works well in a bedroom, entryway, or any tall narrow wall where the vertical format and restrained palette can do what they need to do. Natural wood frame ties into the olive and amber without closing the cool atmosphere down.

Field Notes

From The Coastal Light Studies — work built around the specific light and landscape of the Northern California coast. This piece is about coastal cypress at the fog line: the dark, wind-shaped trees that grow along the Sonoma and Marin headlands, backlit by filtered marine light with occasional amber breaking through the canopy. It's a form that's specific to this coastline — recognizable without being literal.

One of the more compositionally open pieces in the collection, with a single dark form doing most of the work against a lot of quiet air. Pairs well with more atmospheric Coastal Light works for a gallery wall that moves between form and pure atmosphere. Framed and ready to hang.
