Vertical abstract coastal wall art with a wide lavender-grey mass on the left and a broad luminous bloom at center — not a pinpoint of light but a diffuse white glow with a small amber accent at its base, the way fog illuminates from inside rather than letting light through. Teal band right, heavily textured cream below. Works well in a bedroom or sitting room where the palette can settle in — this one rewards slower looking. White frame keeps the lavender from going cold.

Field Notes

From The Coastal Light Studies — work built around the specific atmospheric conditions of the Northern California coast. This piece is about fog glow rather than fog break: the quality of light that exists inside a marine layer when the sun is above it but not yet visible, diffusing through moisture into a wide, sourceless warmth. It's a more interior phenomenon than a sunrise or a sunset — quieter, and harder to photograph.

Pairs well with No. 01 or No. 04 for a vertical-format coastal grouping with different light conditions across the same palette range. Framed and ready to hang.
