Field Notes

Where No. 05 put the red on the ridge, this piece drops it into the valley. A coral-red line slashes diagonally across the mid-section while a dark burgundy mass pushes in from the left with visible spray texture — raw, physical, the most gestural mark-making in the collection. The lower half settles into charcoal-blue and grey, grounding the energy, while small red notations float in the cream sky above like something still traveling. This is the turn from dread to event, and the composition carries that shift in every material choice — controlled stillness below, breaking energy above.
