Field Notes

This is the collection's most saturated piece — deep burgundy-purple consuming the full composition, edges darkening to near-black, faint horizontal bands pulling through the field like layers of dense atmosphere. Then, at the very bottom, a vivid orange-red band glows against amber. That base changes everything. Without it, this is a dark abstract painting. With it, the purple reads as sky pressed down to the point where you can feel the heat underneath. No marks, no lines, no horizon — just color doing the work of weight and pressure.
