If Burn Marks I is the aftermath of fire, this is the moment it happens — the shape leaning, the notched form suggesting a chimney or a tree line or the silhouette of something that was standing and then wasn't. Northern California's fire season changes the landscape in hours. This piece holds that movement: the diagonal sweep, the ground still visible at the edges, the texture of something not fully consumed. Hang both pieces together in a horizontal line, 2–3 inches apart. The conversation between them is the point.
